Microsoft says Outlook recreates the offline file for an Exchange account after you delete it. Outlook fills the new file only with what the server sends back. Items that live only in the old file stay behind.

How do I repair an OST file with Exchange OST Recovery?
Add the damaged file, choose a scan mode and preview the folder tree. Then export the items you need to a new PST file, PDF, MSG, EML, HTML or Office 365. Recovered data goes to a new file and the source OST file stays as it was.
Can Exchange OST Recovery open an orphaned OST file?
Yes. Neither a working Exchange Server nor the original Outlook profile is needed. OST files from a deleted account or an old profile open like any other file.
Does Exchange OST Recovery bring back permanently deleted emails?
Yes, as long as the items still sit inside the file. Normal deletes and Shift plus Delete items show in red in the preview. Items missing from the file cannot come back.
Which scan mode should I choose?
Quick scan starts by default and suits light damage. Advance scan takes more time and handles heavily corrupt files that Quick scan misses.
Do I need Outlook installed to use the software?
No. Scans and most exports finish without Outlook. PST export of contacts, calendars, tasks, notes and journals uses the Use Outlook option, which needs Outlook on the same computer.
What does the free demo of Exchange OST Recovery include?

Which accounts create the OST files that the software supports?
OST files from Exchange, Office 365, IMAP and Outlook.com accounts all open. Emails, attachments, calendars, contacts, notes, tasks and journals come out of them.
How does the software decrypt SMIME and OpenPGP mail?
Select the Remove Encryption box. Add the matching certificate for SMIME mail or the private key for OpenPGP mail with its password. Decrypted mail exports in any supported format.
Is there a size limit for OST files?
No. OST files of any size work. Large files with heavy damage take longer to scan.
Can I save a scan and load it later?
Yes. Store the scanned OST file on disk and load it in a later session. Big files then need no second scan. Recovery ends with a report of recovered mailboxes and saved file paths that exports to CSV.
How fast do I get the license key?
Payment by card or PayPal at the hosted checkout triggers an email with your license key within 15 minutes.
Can I get a refund on Exchange OST Recovery?
Yes. Refund requests are accepted for 30 days under the RecoveryTools refund policy. Software bought without a demo evaluation does not qualify. Email a signed Letter of Destruction to sales@recovery-tools.org. Bundle purchases cannot be refunded.
